In this annex, we outline the main concept, ideas, and possible CrossyRun variations that could be considered for partnership development between SlotCatalog and Evoplay.

CrossyRun Game Mechanic Idea

CrossyRun is a "step crush" mechanic. Game round consists of several steps which the player can perform for a particular bet. In the beginning of the game the round random multiplier is divided into a random number of pieces (steps).

At each step, the player can choose to take a risk and make the next move for a higher multiplier or cash out. Any step could be the last. If the player makes that step, the game round ends and the player loses their bet.

Target Audience:
Age Group: 18–40 years old.
Player Profile:
Gamblers familiar with crash-style games.
Casual and competitive players who enjoy fast-paced and adrenaline-filled experiences.
Players looking for strategy-driven risk-reward mechanics combined with engaging visuals and fun gameplay.

Game Objective

The primary objective of the game is to navigate through as many steps as possible to increase the player’s bet multiplier and maximize potential winnings. Each step introduces escalating risk, forcing the player to make a decision: continue progressing for higher rewards or cash out to secure their current winnings.

CrossyRun Variations

Implementation of CrossyRun games can have many variations.

Games Multipliers variations.

There are several approaches for definition of multiplier value each step:

  • Classical ladder – the multipliers are predefined and static.
  • Randomly Increasing Multipliers – the multipliers and steps quantity are random.
  • Cumulative multiplier – A static or random value is added to the multiplier at each step.
  • Unknown step multiplier – The player discovers the multiplier value after making a move.
  • Risk Selection (Easy/Medium/Hard) - Players can choose their level of risk (and potential multiplier value) for the next step.

Bets Variations and In Game Purchases

There are several approaches of making bets in CrossyRun games

  • Classical Betting Players place a bet on the entire game round.
  • Poker-Style Betting The player must place an additional bet (i.e., increase their stake) with each move.
  • `Step Buy` (Safe Step) Feature The player has the possibility to purchase the next step (guaranteed protection from crashes for one step) Such an approach makes sense for `Unknown multiplier` game version.
  • Several Lives / Save Multiplier Feature - In particular, a step for an additional bet player can save the current multiplier so, in case of a crash, the player still receives a partial win.
  • Bonus Buy Features. possibility to buy bonus features (in case CrossyRun game has in-game features like free steps).
  • Several Characters. Players can place multiple bets and run several characters within a single game round. Each character can be cashed out at a different step.
  • Power Bet (Max Bet) - Players have the option to activate higher bets for additional benefits — such as increased RTP or a higher chance of triggering the bonus game
  • In-Game Purchases - It could be game variation where players can make in-game purchases of customizable characters' avatars, graphical special effects, character animations, wins celebrations etc.

Bonus Features & Additional Events.

In CrossyRun games different additional features could be implemented:

Positive Events

  • Jump Forward – Random increases of the multiplier
  • Bonus Multiplier – Instantly increases the multiplier by a fixed value.
  • Free Steps – Guarantees no crash on the next few steps. Similar to Jump Forward, but allows players to cash out after each free step to avoid negative events (feature make sense if negative events are implemented).
  • Free Rounds – Players get the possibility to play several game rounds for free.
  • Wheel of Fortune – A mix of positive and negative features are randomly selected on a spinning wheel.
  • Click & Pick Minigames – Interactive minigames where players uncover both positive and negative outcomes.

Negative Events

  • Step Backward (Reducing Multiplier) – Decreases the multiplier as the character moves backward several steps.
  • No Cash Out – Prevents the player from cashing out on the next step(s).
  • Force Cash Out – The game round ends immediately; the player receives the current multiplier.

Neutral Events

  • Limited Time for Game Round – The time of the game round is limited and the player is forced to make a decision about each step faster.
  • Limited Step Duration – For each step players have a limited amount of time for decision to take the next move or not. If time runs out, the game round ends and the player receives the current multiplier.
  • CrossyRun Multi User Version. The Multi-User CrossyRun is the game version where several players can participate in the game round simultaneously. The decision time for each step is limited to 3–4 seconds. Multi-User CrossyRun could be implemented: Visualisation of Avatars and Indicators showing whether other players chose to continue or cash out, round real-time leaderboard, Hall of Fame – a 24-hour leaderboard, possibility switch to another round after cashout, cashout strategies based on the behaviour of other players.
  • Features for CrossyRun Games Promotion. For the successful CrossyRun promotion it is helpful to have such features as: Autoplay, Free Bets, Tournaments, Data feeds: Big wins / Big multipliers / Hot/Cold, Real money rounds history, Possibility to replay game round
  • CrossyRun Players Strategies. Automation of player strategies can be integrated into CrossyRun games. Strategies could be used in games where the Autoplay feature is implemented. Example of strategies: Martingale (doubling bet after each loose), Bet Jumper - (on crashes in particular step increasing bet on a certain level), Cashout Multiplayer Jumper - if there were several crashes in particular step increase targeted multiplier. Follower - for Multi-User version repeat of actions of successful player(s)
